What a Wild Weekend!

It was a jam packed weekend as we participated in the Grand America Bridal show on Saturday and did a wedding reception at the Salt Lake City Hardware building that evening. Yes, you read that correctly, we did a wedding show AND a wedding all in the same weekend.

No, we're not crazy, just dedicated to making our brides happy :)

Things to bring to the show:

2. The checkbook (This is the perfect day to make decisions & book your wedding vendors at the show. Wedding vendors book quickly at shows especially for those busy Friday & Saturday weddings that are so very popular. Many wedding vendors will be offering special deals if you book the day of the show. So be sure to come ready to put down a deposit & make some decisions while you are there.)


3. Notebook (You will want to have a notebook that you can write down notes. Things you need, things you liked & of course names & numbers of important wedding professionals you want to get in touch with.)


4. Your pre-registered ticket (Be sure to print out your pre-registered slips as there will be line devoted to those who have the printed slips. This will save you time waiting & you can hand in your slip & get into the show.)

Giving Back

Tonight is an exciting night as we prepare for the Tooele Community Hero Awards Gala. This is a great event honoring those who have contributed unselfishly to the community of Tooele. Businesses and individuals will be highlighted and winners announced after Olympic Gold Medalist MikeSchlappi delivers a motivational presentation. Although in a wheel chair, Mike is an olympic gold medalist and an all around amazing person. Wonderful Opportunities and Exciting Announcements

There has been so much going on lately that I haven't had a lot of time to blog. BUT! I'm so excited to have the opportunity to speak at BYU this Wednesday! That's right! Utah Events by Design was invited to speak to a group of students interested in pursuing careers in event planning this coming Wednesday.I've been asked to talk about how I got my business started, what my experience has been like, offer advice and answer the students' questions about it all. WOW!  I'm so honored to have this opportunity and am very flattered to have been asked to participate in such a cool discussion!

The second thing that has been keeping me occupied is an event I'm helping plan for the community of Tooele. Janet, owner of R.F. Engraving has asked me to participate in this is a wonderful event that will highlight Tooele businesses and individuals that have made vast contributions to the community. Olympic Gold Medalist Mike Schlappi will be speaking, and some exciting and prestigious awards will given out. I'm so glad I was asked to help put such a meaningful and special event together. Because it's for such a great cause, I donated all my services to this event free of charge. I too wanted to contribute along with the generous businesses participating. To read more about this wonderful event, click here.

Unrelated to events, I have some exciting announcements that will be made this week about two fantastic vendors who have joined the Preferred Vendor Program! I'm currently working on the announcements and blog posts so you'll have to sit tight for a few more days, but check back as I'm sure you'll be pleased to see who has joined the program.
